Small Pet Cremation & Memorial Services

Cremating your smaller pets such as hamsters, rabbits or guinea pigs are just as important to us as cremating larger pets such as cats and dogs. We’ve paid tributes to many small pets including rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rats, mice, ferrets, chinchillas and more.

Any pet, no matter of size or species, holds their own special place in our hearts and all deserve the same caring tribute.

When we lose our beloved pet, it can be heart-breaking. We want to help make your final tribute as easy as possible and have outlined below the many ways to commemorate your pet’s life and friendship.

Cremation for Small Pets such as Hamsters, Rabbits & Guinea Pigs

At PCS we offer two forms of cremation for your small pet, whether it’s a hamster, rabbit, rat, ferret, guinea-pig or another small furry friend.

Individual cremations ensure that your pet is cremated singularly within a clean and private chamber. With the individual cremation, you are guaranteed that the ashes you receive, or those placed into our memorial garden, will be only the ashes of your beloved pet.

A communal cremation is the second option available to you. This means that your pet will be cremated with a small group of others, as there is no separation of pets in this process you will not receive any ashes back from a communal cremation. Perhaps for many, the communal cremation option provides a sense of togetherness, to be alongside other beloved pets on their final journey.

Both cremations are carried out with the utmost respect and care, and there is no right or wrong choice.

Small Pet Memorials

Occasionally, pet owners opt for memorial over cremation. This is a decision that is unique to the individual pet owner.

We have a number of ways to memorialise your pet, please take a look through the shop and services section of our website for more information.

Here are some frequently asked questions about small pet cremation and memorial:

Q: What animals are classed as a small pet?

A: Rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, rats, mice, ferrets, chinchillas and other small pets that aren’t horses, ponies, cats or dogs.

Q: How does small pet cremation or memorial work?

A: Our small pet cremation and memorial services follow the same process as that of a cat or dog. Please see our services section for more information on each of the services we offer.

Q: Will my small pet be treated in the same way as a dog or cat?

A: Yes. The size or type of pet is not what is important - the bond you had is what matters. We know the love that owners have for their pet is not governed by species.
